Horrible Time To Be a Destitute Gamer

-sigh- Video games are so much money. And the parental units are all about the 'pay with your own money' thing. What money may I ask? Please point me to the money that I can use. I'm not paid much from my work at home/part time job. And I'm going to England in the second week of December, and I want money to buy souvenirs. So the money I do get goes in the checking account. I'm actually being quite responsible with my money, and that's a very difficult thing for me especially with all these big releases coming up in the next six months.

Everyone kept asking me last week 'you going to buy Halo 3?' "Nope, I'm broke."

Stupid economy, stupid trade-in value rates.

Like it gets easier when you're older? C'mon folks, I am married with a 1-year-old son, working both as active duty US Army with a part-time job on the side, and I still can't afford as many games as I want.

I am at the point now where I can pay for the real important games I really want to play... but at the sacrifice of working my ass off long hours. So yeah, I can afford some games, but I don't have time to play 'em.

House, I do agree though, those game retailers def know how to screw us gamers with that trade-in garbage...

Seriously I think you should be able to trade a game in for another game of equal or lesser value on the spot. =/

I can mostly agree with that. I say if you are trading in a used game, then you could get another used game with similar value, but if you trade in King Kong and expect Halo3... I don't think so...lol

They want to make the big bucks, they want to give you 15 dollars for a brand-new game and go back and sell it for 50 dollars. They aren't there to satisfy customers they are there to make money! money money money!

I don't trade in games though, I have once, I usually only buy games I know I'll keep.

Yeah I know what u mean I'm there with you. Its hard to be like I'm going to spend 60 dollars on a game and you realize you need to buy stuff for the kids. Then you just feel real guilty doing anything for yourself sad

then they would make money only on those who just bought used games instead of who traded and bought.. i'm sure they would lose a lot of money that way no

ok I understand that games cost allot and kids have hard time finding money, but for halo3 you should have no excuse you should have been saving for the last 2 years if you knew it was coming out. Big Grin

Any way at the age of 14 you should be able to find a job if you look really hard. I found one after looking around for 6 months. But now I am 17 and have a job that pays $9 which I think is ok for a job during the school year.

LOL holy cow I just read over what I typed and I really don't know why I typed all that Big Grin LOL I am tired and just got off work forgive me sad

I'm 18 and a full-time student.

People stop focusing on Halo 3. I only mentioned it because it was an example. I've never really had a desire to play any of the Halo games. =/
