An answer to your burning question!

OK, OK, I know you're all wondering- "hey Raine, how's your vacation going?"
Well here's your answer. I couldn't be MORE bored. Well, maybe I could be SLIGHTLY more bored, but I'd have started stabbing myself with a fork or something by now, so I wouldn't be bored ANYMORE anyway. I mean it. I'm bored out of my mind. My parents don't DO anything! If I had my car, I'd go out, but I don't, so I'm landlocked!
During the day, my Mom is constantly on me- "why don't you take a walk? Why don't you go to the park? Why don't you get some air?" And I'm starting to feel 15 again... I basically just avoid her, and yell at my son all day lol! Seriously? Walking? How about she goes on a walk and gives me some time to myself?? (To game, of course ^_^)
My parents were EXTREMELY unhappy that I brought my 360- they think it's a sign of mental illness to bring a game console across the world like that. Plus, they don't want my brother playing games... the poor one still left at home!!
My brother has taken over my 360, so at night, when I'd like to relax, he beats me to it. Which is fine, I guess, since #1- my mom sits on the couch glaring at me til she goes to bed anyway, and #2- I really don't have any good games with me. I've been kinda burned out on 360 for a while now, even before I left I'd sorta flip through my arcade games and mess around on XBL... now, I brought like- 10 games... and they all suck. I'm going to gamestop tomorrow and hoping to find something that catches my interest. I bought Bad Company last time I went but I don't really like the story mode, so I'm not playing it yet. But my gamerscore is up to 22,167, which is pretty. My goal is to beat Evol's score when I get a chance to update it! I have NBA 2k6 to waffle up when I feel REALLY bored, as well. I just have a few months until the RPG floodgates are opened, I need to hang tight until then!!
On the other hand, my parents have been inventing reasons to go to his friends house and try to drag me with. I refuse to go, mostly cause it's just manufactured attempts to set me up with his friends son. He's my age and we've known each other since we were like- 6. We saw each other through our fat years, and believe me, there never WAS any interest, and there never WILL be. "Oh, but he's a rich lawyer!" Hmm and boring as anything, as well! And a massive douche.
I think the thing I hate the most when I'm here (besides the utter and complete boredom that has me harassing Evol all day every day, lol!) is how I regress when I'm here. My parents are the kind of people who think their way is the only way, and I'm reduced to my teenage years to defend my life. For instance, I got yelled at a few minutes ago because I'm on the computer and my dad said "What are you doing?" And I replied "Minding my business, how about you?" I know, I know, NOT the most mature thing to say, but I'm 28, and I have a 5 year old son that I take care of all day so I think what I do in my free time shouldn't be up to scrutiny. It is though! God it is!
LOL besides that, my mom has taken to going through my room when I'm out, and going through my text messages when I accidentally left my phone on the table ("Who is this Norris, anyway?" to which I replied "this guy who thinks he's the Antichrist. He uses the Internet to recruit his harem." After which she nodded, since I just confirmed her beliefs...) This is an annoying habit, because I think the closer someone gets to 30, the more privacy they should have. I don't like questions about why I choose what kind of underwear, and why I don't have any nice clothes that fit me, etc...
So, Friday, we leave for a weeks vacation in Washington state. We DRIVE there, the whole troop, then, we get to SHARE a hotel room. Yes, SHARE one. I can't think of a way to get out of it without hurting their feelings, so I'll be going, lol, and I won't be online for a week.
Oh well, 2 weeks down, I think... 5 to go... I'll get through it.
This has confirmed my belief, though, that when I return to the states, I can't live in CA. For financial and claustrophobic reasons, I will be attempting to find an affordable place to live in any other state but here!!!!
Any recommendations for games that have come out in the last 2 months that I may not have been aware of that are really fun are always ALWAYS appreciated! That is, if I can convince my mom that it's OK for people with children to game too!!!

That sucks that your not enjoying yourself. Maybe your parents are just trying to take an interst in what you like i.e. the computer stuff cause it doesnt sould like you have a lot in common with them anymore. Im sure you know that they love you and just want to have some way to connect with you but this is probally the only way they know how. Sounds like you mom probally worries nonstop bout everything. Try a something new; go for the walk as long as you mom sits and plays an easy arcade game with you. If she is not willing too then its her loss and just keep bailing till you get some sign from them they are willing to accept new ideas.
Passing Evol's gamerscore? Thats funny, your gonna need some shit with a bannana clip to stop that train!!!!
P.S. My "Burning Question" was answered by the clinic doctor and im trying to move foward thank you very much :P

I beat it without anywhere NEAR that many hours, but I beat the crap out of it!!! Save right before you choose mania or dementia and then just load it up after you get the acheievment and choose the other one!

I love my parents, and we get along FINE until we're in the same house for more than 3 days. They say once you live on your own you can never go back, that's probably true.

Well it's a fun fun game with great dialogue. After I finished it- before the 250 expansion, I felt kinda empty, and had no interest in games for a few months. I'm hoping Fallout will fill the void left by finishing Oblivion, though!

Yeah, I tried Morrowind but it wasn't the same. I felt WORSE after playing that!
I think the combat system will be interesting, it's a twist off the traditional turn based system of the other fallouts, probably cause they're trying to appeal to a broader group of gamers, rather than the niche market the other 2 appealed to- but they don't want to alienate them, either! Bethesda wants you to buy fallout 3, lol. And they know there are a lot of people that prefer active battles to turn based, especially 360 owners.
I haven't played the other fallouts so I'm not sure what their system was like either!

OMG, that reminds me of this trip to Walmart I just took with my little brother. I went to get a phone, and we were walking past the clothes, and my brother muttered something about tube socks... to which I replied "hey! Tube socks are cool!!!!" really loudly- because he was behind me a little. We walked a few more steps, and he said "Dude, that's cold. I thought I was mean!" And I said "what?"
Turned out an old guy had been coming at us, with tube socks pulled up over his knees, and my brother actually muttered "Look at that geezer in the tube socks." He was a foot away from me when I shouted how cool tube socks were.
I was really embarrased, and considered getting a bag of them and getting in line behind him so he could see that I do, in fact, like tube socks. But in the end, I'm hoping he may not have heard me...

We were called the trio by people because most of the threads would eventually dissolve into conversations between us.
So it's not the trio singling each other out to talk only with each other, we're just friends, and when we're on at the same time and no one else is, we end up mostly responding to each other.
IDC if my blog posts turn into discussions, and IDC if it's just me Evol and Kidd or if everyone on the site wants to join in. So I'm not sure why you do.

Sorry Raine, there no way your family can be worse than mine but if they are I DO FEEL SORRY FOR YOU.
Just to let you know when you turn 40, it brings on a huge sense of power over what go's on in your life. I feel much better able to tell anyone even my dad (JackAss) that I am going to do what I want, not the other way around. I'm sure it's different for each person, but there is a point where you will be looked on as the one in charge.
Say hi to my dad if you see him, I hear he's out there with his new bimbo waffle girlfriend. I hear she's 3yrs younger than me (SICK) You'll know when you see him, He'll be the old geezer with too dark a tan and way to much gold jewelry on with his shirt open.
Well anyway back to you. I liked the Bourne Conspiracy game alot. It's single player offline. You get to not only shoot terrorist but also beat the crap out of them to. At the end of a long day full of Asshats, it was just what the doctor ordered.
I hope something exciting does happen on your trip. Hang in there, you never know whats around the next corner.
Just remeber that your family loves you and that it's probably just as awkward for them too. Try playing a board game or something you used to do as a family. That will give them the feelling that they are still in touch with their little girl, and it might get them to give you some space.

I remember the day I had had enough. It went ok, I think that they were even trying to see how far i'd go before I snaped. I went off on them and then there was tottal silence. LOL, Kidd, it gets on my nerves too... but my bros are really cool, so that's nice. And my mom is my closest friend when I'm... away from her. Distance just works out so great for us. And yes, she contradicted herself there, it happens a lot.
I'm giving them some room, since they're all really sick, remember, Alex made them all sick! My mom has it worst of all, so she's been in bed all day today, and it's been like- the best day since I got here!
I spent $400 at gamestop the 2 times I went... I'm so ashamed. I got a lecture from them, but now they're on to the silent judgemental looks. That's better, like water off a ducks back!
@ Evol... I would tell HER that, but I think she'd decide I'm not too old to be spanked after all -_- My mom's on the edge of crazy, none of the 4 of us (me, my brothers or my dad) wanna push her over.
I found out yesterday that I'm scaring my dad since I've been here though, he says I'm crazy defensive lol! Guess there's a little of that as as well...

If it's any consolation, I moved half way across the US when I was 27 to put some space between me and the folks. Most of my high school friends all scattered after college, it just took me a bit longer to decide where I wanted to land.
Now the parents come visit me in my house and are subject to my house rules. Hey mom, why don't you go take a walk and get some fresh air while I'm working over here. =)
Time fixes most parent issues as long as you don't go all Lyle and Erik Menendez.
LOL I live 1/2 way across the world from them now, but there's no way they'll ever come to visit me in Germany. Back when I lived in the states, my dad came a lot to visit me but my mom only came once. My dad's really cool, he just played with my son and bought us dinner, lol, but my mom came in and cleaned my forking house, and rearranged everything, and lectured me for 4 goddamn days.
I guess no matter how old I am, I'll always feel 15 around her. She's that kind of person!
Actually, I was planning to bring my 360 tomorrow when we leave for WA, and she FREAKED when she found out (even though she's not going) and accused me of being an addict and I decided to just leave it here- I don't want some sort of intervention when I get back!!!
Be careful she might be planing to do something to it. She probably looks at it like it's the Devil and is just waiting for you to leave.

Back when I was in 9th grade my mama noticed I was playing Indy Car Racing by Papyrus all the time, I just couldn't get enough.She asked me is this how I want to spend the rest of my life playing games. I responded "Yes" and about 18 years later she the one with a Wii, a DS, plays contantly on Pogo.com. But since she wouldn't remeber saying that to me, I just bask in what a hyprocrite she has turned out to be, but I still love her.
