Get so involved with what? I'm not as involved in games as you make it sound... Besides, a woman between 50 & 70 is in a better place to game than a teenage boy. No school, kids grown and out of the house, already done the job thing and retired, so plenty of time to play.

The question is, if you're a teenager, why would you spend so much time on games and forums instead of out doing stuff with school and friends? Don't YOU have a life?

to let ya know i do love to game, and i'm 16, but i also am very athletic, i surf, get good grades, i have a wounderfull girlfriend. So i am not a lazy kid wasting my time playing video games, xbox live is a fun place to socialize. lot's of other kids from my school ( like half ) play video games too. and out of that half maybe like 40 % of them actaully play good games ( on 360 ). so don't be hating on all tenage gamers we do have life's outside the game, forum time we put in our live's...

Anyway, if you read what I wrote, I assume you read what was said TO ME.
So you will know I was responding to one particular person, not teenagers in general. And it was a counter point, not actually my opinion anyway- it's like when someone says "you're ugly" and you say "your MOM's ugly." It doesn't actually mean you think his mom is ugly, it just turns around what the first person says.

I don't understand why teenagers are all so quick to be defensive. I mean, when Allpro said I was 50 and too old to play games, and it made me look creepy, there wasn't a rush of all the adults jumping on the thread defending their reasons for gaming.

Mostly because- regardless of how old anyone on the forum is- we all write on the forums, and we all play games. So no one has a reason to HAVE to defend themselves. The point I was trying to make to Allpro, and now to you, is that everyone who plays games, or talks on forums, decides to do that INSTEAD of something else. Whether you're 16 or 61, there are other things you could do instead of game. And as I pointed out in a different thread, I'm NOT in my 50s (I'm in my late 200s) but if I WERE, I'd have a perfect right to play games and chat about games in forums without being referred to as creepy.

And why is it that every teenager that is trying to say they aren't a nerd, or that they have a life, says "I have a girlfriend" hmmm? Is that teenage code? Number 1- with the advent of Halo getting huge, and GTA, and games like that, gaming is MUCH more mainstream, no one thinks that teenagers who game are all acne faced geeks with thick glasses and pocket protecters that play dungeons and dragons in their mom's basement. Number 2- having a girlfriend at that age doesn't mean you're attractive in any way, nor does it mean you have a good personality. Taking the fact that female girls are just as desperate to act grown up and "date" as teenage boys out of the equation, chicks constantly slum. I mean- females have a notorious weakness for dorks, look at David Spade and his parade of ridiculously better looking women! Look at all the sitcoms EVER- ugly, lame guys with WAY hotter wives. Having a girlfriend doesn't mean anything, so in the future, know that- to adults, at least- it makes you look VERY insecure to bring up that you have one!
