noob jobz New Mexico |
I recently just finished up my freshman year of college and my junior year I will be transferring from a junior college over to Texas A&M. Now I am stuck in between sports. I was offered some money(not scholarships) for track from Lamar(AA i think) baylor, and Texas state (AA) during high school. I decided to stay close for my girlfriend and turned all of that down. Now I wish I would have done sports instead as I am beginning to get out of shape. For the next year- year and a half I will spend all my time getting back into shape. Now here are my options I think I am either going to A&M for decathlon in track or lacrosse. Now I have never played lacrosse but it looks like my kind of sport. I am really good at track but I just now found a new interest in lacrosse. Are there any lacrosse players in here that could tell me if it would be possible for me to even make the team without ever playing before. It seems pretty easy to pick up. Anybody got any suggestions? Right now Im leaning towards track but if any lacrosse fans could change my mind please post your thoughts. Thanks ______________________________ |

if you are just trying to get in shape why not try lacrosse. if you don't make the team its not too big of a problem as long as you can work out with them maybe the following year you'll make it after you learn some of the tricks.(i'm a football and swimming(swimming will get you in great shape) man myself so i can't offer too much input on the lacrosse field) ______________________________ This post was last edited by mack97. 05/12/08 at 03:00 AM. |

I would say track because you have talent in that area. Lax is a lot harder than it looks unless you've picked up on it fast. I just transferred colleges to play ice hockey myself. ______________________________ |

I've watched a few practices for my colleges Lacrosse team and by all means it doesnt look easy. It may be simple, like say golf, but you have to be precise with your "ball" handling skills. I would say stick with what you know your good at and pick up lacrosse as a hobby. Like Hockeypuck said, if you pick up lacrosse fast try out for the team, but I would put more emphasis on track. Good luck! ______________________________ |
