So is this might and magic game any good? I keep seeing people play it on my friends list and I tried it before but couldn't get into it that much. If I hear good feedback on it I will give it another shot like Mass Effeect (and Im glad I did) ______________________________ |

Quote By PSORaine I. Am. Not. A. Fan. . . . . SERIOUSLY. I don't like how if you pick something up, like a potion or a collectible in front of someone the game is fricking over. Or if you- I don't know- accidentally kick a guard out a window just to see if you could. Give me jail time, or a fight or something, but don't make me do everything all over again. Oh and there's a ridiculously jealous female voice in your head that gets annoying as she rips on all the females you encounter. Seriously, it's like... well, ME. she bothered me after awhile, but later in the game you can choose to get rid of her... i had lots of fun with this game its just to bad that online you need like a ton of people to even start a game and nobody is playing it. |

You didn't bother me at all- it is totally fine to ask someone about a game they're playing. ______________________________ |

The PC version was decent at best, sadly once it was ported to the 360 it left the few actual fun portions of the game with the PC. Although its still playable if youre really interested but Id rent if before you shell out any money. ______________________________ This post was last edited by PSOLaguna. 05/19/08 at 03:46 PM. |

Quote By Bobby 12 light i just bought this game and its pretty good Dark Messiah: Might & Magic Elements is a descent game if you are a big RPG fan. I played the demo on my monthly OXM subsciption disk and eventually bought it used from EBGames / GameStop for $30.00 (CAN/USD) used. Now if I was asked if I would have bought this game at a full retail price... the answer would have been NO F'ING WAY!!! It's no Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or Fallout 3 (hold out for that one... sweet atomic aftermath world) Is the game good? It's worth a rental to find out. And if you like it, it's worth buying pre-played. BUT only if you are a true fan of RPG gaming and are interested in a differnt type of game, give this one a try. ______________________________ This post was last edited by VanIslePimp. 05/24/08 at 12:47 AM. |

If you are a TRUE fan of RPG gaming, you take offense at this game being called an RPG. Same goes for the elder scrolls or the fallout franchises. I love Fallout and I love Oblivion but they aren't rpgs for a true rpg fan, VIP! ______________________________ This post was last edited by PSORaine. 05/24/08 at 06:23 AM. |

I love Fallout and I love Oblivion but they aren't rpgs for a true rpg fan, VIP! Take care that your syrupy indoctrination doesn't cloud your brain, madam! J-RPGs belong to a sub-genre of the genre RPG, of which Elder Scrolls and Fallout are most satanly a part of (i don't know the officially accepted term amongst aficionados but i call them 'Western RPGs'). You can have all the Lunars and Ar Tonelicos you want, but you play 10-20 hours of Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall or the original Fallout and try to say they aren't RPGs! On top of that, any greasy D&D nerd worth his salt in natural 20's could beat the tar out of a metrosexual otaku any day of the week! I have only played the demo but I can definitely agree with your disdain for DMMMMMMMMM being lumped in with your chibi-headed Secret of Final Triggermana stuff. However, saying that Elder Scrolls and its ilk are of the same il-repute and questionable lineage is borderline heresy! You walk a thin, dangerous line, edged on either side by pits of sedition and pancake batter. Tread carefully. ______________________________ ![]() 360: [ Avatar | Beowulf | Big Game Hunter | College Hoops 2K6 | CSI | DiRT | Fight Night 3 | Fuzion Frenzy 2 | King Kong | Lost VD | Madden 06 | Meet the Robinsons | MLB 2K6 | NBA 2K6 | Spider-Man: FoF | TMNT | Viking | X-Men ] XLA: [ Aegis Wing | Galaga | Golden Axe | New Rally-X | Pocketbike Racer | Puzzle Quest | Rocky & Bullwinkle | Uno ] |

Ever notice how when you put western in front of something that is good as it was, it means it's a crappy version made specifically for consumption by the American masses? (except omelettes, western omelettes are great). ______________________________ |

The effeminate otaku would be too busy checking their facebook comments for fighting tips and posting on their twitter, "lolz there's some guy with a 'Jesus saves, everyone else takes 2d6 dmg' shirt coming towards me!" to mount a decent defense. Assuming the D&D nerd didn't wiff their to-hit, it would be no contest. An otaku's inherent fear of real-world conflict gives them a huge negative modifier to their "nerd fight" saving throws. ______________________________ ![]() 360: [ Avatar | Beowulf | Big Game Hunter | College Hoops 2K6 | CSI | DiRT | Fight Night 3 | Fuzion Frenzy 2 | King Kong | Lost VD | Madden 06 | Meet the Robinsons | MLB 2K6 | NBA 2K6 | Spider-Man: FoF | TMNT | Viking | X-Men ] XLA: [ Aegis Wing | Galaga | Golden Axe | New Rally-X | Pocketbike Racer | Puzzle Quest | Rocky & Bullwinkle | Uno ] This post was last edited by ReverendMeta. 05/24/08 at 01:34 PM. (except omelettes, western omelettes are great). .... Elder Scrolls and it's ilk ARE bastardized RPGs, it's what happens when you mix American impatience with the fun of leveling up. They are a sub genre as well, I like to call them "action RPGs" because- well that's obvious. J-RPG isn't a subgenre - the first video game RPG was created IN japan- they did it first and they do it best- but the games themselves have nothing to do with being from Japan. Oh by the way, ever heard of Ultima? You'd like it. It inspired all your original J-RPGs ^^ -edit- also, it's freaking awesome that you liked Ar Tonelico & the Lunar games. I was throwing them out there in hopes of getting a catch. Perhaps your judgement isn't entirely terrible & pants-less. This post was last edited by ReverendMeta. 05/24/08 at 02:00 PM. Quote By ReverendMeta saying Dragon Quest-patterned games are RPGs and Elder Scrolls, Fallout and DMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM are in an altogether seperate group of 'wannabe RPGs' is disrespectful!! LMAO. Not WANNA bes exactly- just their own genre. I don't mean they are any less of games or any less fun- well, some of them anyway. It'll probably always be an agree to disagree thing :P I don't know what you have against otaku and And while it is true that the ability to get or keep a girlfriend is irrelevant on whether you're good looking or not, and whether you're cool or not (and crap, how did you even remember that? I don't remember 1/2 of what I post 10 minutes later... like- you'd have to read it back to me as soon as I hit "post") it is very relevant in the D&D nerds VS Otaku faceoff. It just IS! ______________________________ |
