An answer to your burning question!

OK, OK, I know you're all wondering- "hey Raine, how's your vacation going?"

Well here's your answer. I couldn't be MORE bored. Well, maybe I could be SLIGHTLY more bored, but I'd have started stabbing myself with a fork or something by now, so I wouldn't be bored ANYMORE anyway. I mean it. I'm bored out of my mind. My parents don't DO anything! If I had my car, I'd go out, but I don't, so I'm landlocked!

During the day, my Mom is constantly on me- "why don't you take a walk? Why don't you go to the park? Why don't you get some air?" And I'm starting to feel 15 again... I basically just avoid her, and yell at my son all day lol! Seriously? Walking? How about she goes on a walk and gives me some time to myself?? (To game, of course ^_^)

My parents were EXTREMELY unhappy that I brought my 360- they think it's a sign of mental illness to bring a game console across the world like that. Plus, they don't want my brother playing games... the poor one still left at home!!

My brother has taken over my 360, so at night, when I'd like to relax, he beats me to it. Which is fine, I guess, since #1- my mom sits on the couch glaring at me til she goes to bed anyway, and #2- I really don't have any good games with me. I've been kinda burned out on 360 for a while now, even before I left I'd sorta flip through my arcade games and mess around on XBL... now, I brought like- 10 games... and they all suck. I'm going to gamestop tomorrow and hoping to find something that catches my interest. I bought Bad Company last time I went but I don't really like the story mode, so I'm not playing it yet. But my gamerscore is up to 22,167, which is pretty. My goal is to beat Evol's score when I get a chance to update it! I have NBA 2k6 to waffle up when I feel REALLY bored, as well. I just have a few months until the RPG floodgates are opened, I need to hang tight until then!!

On the other hand, my parents have been inventing reasons to go to his friends house and try to drag me with. I refuse to go, mostly cause it's just manufactured attempts to set me up with his friends son. He's my age and we've known each other since we were like- 6. We saw each other through our fat years, and believe me, there never WAS any interest, and there never WILL be. "Oh, but he's a rich lawyer!" Hmm and boring as anything, as well! And a massive douche.

I think the thing I hate the most when I'm here (besides the utter and complete boredom that has me harassing Evol all day every day, lol!) is how I regress when I'm here. My parents are the kind of people who think their way is the only way, and I'm reduced to my teenage years to defend my life. For instance, I got yelled at a few minutes ago because I'm on the computer and my dad said "What are you doing?" And I replied "Minding my business, how about you?" I know, I know, NOT the most mature thing to say, but I'm 28, and I have a 5 year old son that I take care of all day so I think what I do in my free time shouldn't be up to scrutiny. It is though! God it is!

LOL besides that, my mom has taken to going through my room when I'm out, and going through my text messages when I accidentally left my phone on the table ("Who is this Norris, anyway?" to which I replied "this guy who thinks he's the Antichrist. He uses the Internet to recruit his harem." After which she nodded, since I just confirmed her beliefs...) This is an annoying habit, because I think the closer someone gets to 30, the more privacy they should have. I don't like questions about why I choose what kind of underwear, and why I don't have any nice clothes that fit me, etc...

So, Friday, we leave for a weeks vacation in Washington state. We DRIVE there, the whole troop, then, we get to SHARE a hotel room. Yes, SHARE one. I can't think of a way to get out of it without hurting their feelings, so I'll be going, lol, and I won't be online for a week.

Oh well, 2 weeks down, I think... 5 to go... I'll get through it.

This has confirmed my belief, though, that when I return to the states, I can't live in CA. For financial and claustrophobic reasons, I will be attempting to find an affordable place to live in any other state but here!!!!

Any recommendations for games that have come out in the last 2 months that I may not have been aware of that are really fun are always ALWAYS appreciated! That is, if I can convince my mom that it's OK for people with children to game too!!!

That sucks that your not enjoying yourself. Maybe your parents are just trying to take an interst in what you like i.e. the computer stuff cause it doesnt sould like you have a lot in common with them anymore. Im sure you know that they love you and just want to have some way to connect with you but this is probally the only way they know how. Sounds like you mom probally worries nonstop bout everything. Try a something new; go for the walk as long as you mom sits and plays an easy arcade game with you. If she is not willing too then its her loss and just keep bailing till you get some sign from them they are willing to accept new ideas.

Passing Evol's gamerscore? Thats funny, your gonna need some shit with a bannana clip to stop that train!!!!
